Drawing one
My college-level drawing class strengthened my understanding of proportion, perspective, composition, shading, and observational drawing. I learned to translate what I see into accurate and expressive artwork while developing greater attention to detail, patience, and confidence in my creative process. These skills give me a strong foundation for approaching new subjects and creating more intentional, visually compelling work.

value drawing
My college-level 2D drawing class strengthened my skills in value, shading, and creating depth using graphite. I learned how to observe light and shadow, build realistic forms, and create strong contrast and dimension through careful mark-making. These skills give me an advantage by helping me create detailed and impactful artwork.

stipple project
using only an ink pen, I created a stipple drawing of my parents’ wedding in my college-level 2D class. I learned precision, and control. I was able to create value, texture, depth, and detail through the careful placement of individual dots. These skills give me an advantage by strengthening my attention to detail and my ability to create expressive artwork with minimal materials.

symbols
I combined three symbols into a cohesive digital composition and was able to translate that design onto a presentation board using vinyl. This project strengthened my skills in digital design, composition,, and visual communication. These skills give me a competitive advantage by allowing me to confidently move from digital concepts to polished, physical designs while maintaining accuracy and consistency.

abstract birdhouse
This project began as a digitally designed abstract birdhouse that I transformed into a physical structure using a laser cutter. I developed skills in digital modeling, problem-solving, spatial thinking, and hands-on construction by designing individual pieces, preparing them for laser cutting, and assembling them into a finished form. This demonstrates my ability to turn creative concepts into tangible results, work through technical challenges, and manage a project from initial idea to completion.

birdhouse turned non representational
For this project, I transformed the previous traditional concept of a birdhouse into a non-representational art form, focusing on shape, line, texture, and composition rather than creating a realistic object. I explored how familiar forms can be reimagined through abstraction while maintaining structure and balance. This project strengthened my creative problem-solving, conceptual thinking, spatial awareness, and ability to experiment with form.
